The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps' $30 Million Community Center Streamlines Operations with Technology from The Active Network

Active's Software Will Help Drive Community Participation at State-of-the-Art Facility

SAN DIEGO, CA - December 10, 2009 - The new Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center (Kroc Center) in Omaha, NE, which opened November 16, selected hosted technology from The Active Network, Inc. (Active), a leading provider of software technology and marketing solutions for community service organizations, to manage daily operations. Active's web-based, non-profit software, available through its ActiveCommunities division, automates registration for the community center, centralizes data for improved reporting and will help increase community participation at the state-of-the-art facility.

The Kroc Center, made possible by a $60 million gift to the Salvation Army from Joan B. Kroc, widow of McDonald's CEO Ray Kroc, and a $15 million local matching endowment campaign headed up by Heritage Services, was seeking a scalable software solution to streamline registration for its hundreds of activities, memberships and child care programs. Before selecting Active's technology, the Kroc Center did a thorough analysis of all software contenders and selected Active's online registration software for its ease-of-use and streamlined payment processing.

"Active is the only software provider to offer the full package," explained Tom Folk, director of operations for the Kroc Center. "In addition to providing flexible technology that will maximize our organization's operational efficiency, Active's marketing tools allow us to effectively communicate with participants and draw attention to the variety of programs we offer."

With Active's software in place, the Kroc Center is equipped with valuable reporting tools to produce real-time reports on memberships, financials and registrations in order to make fast, informed decisions. The organization also has access to online marketing tools including e-mail templates, best practice marketing tips to drive registrations, and program listings on Active's award winning online community, Active.com.

"We are proud to add the Kroc Center to the growing list of community organizations in North America that utilize our software and we are committed to delivering innovative, cost-effective and secure technology to the non-profit market," explained James Reyes, general manager at The Active Network, Inc.
