Active Network Now Provides Online Registration for Six of the 10 Largest Marathons in the U.S.
SAN DIEGO, CA – September 13, 2010 – Today, Marine Corps Marathon (MCM), the fourth largest marathon in the U.S. and eighth largest in the world, announced that it has selected The Active Network, Inc. (Active Network), a technology and media company, to provide online registration and technology solutions for all MCM-organized events including the Marine Corps Historic Half marathon and MCM Event Series held March through November.
MCM conducted an extensive search that included many of the endurance industry’s top technology providers. Technology requirements consisted of the ability to manage several races with a field of 10,000 or more, and the capability to handle high volume registration for sell-out events. Through the new five-year agreement, Active Network will provide technology to manage and track participant and volunteer data, access to real-time medical and media reporting, live race day results and MCM website hosting.
