Customized Social Networking Platform Will Drive Meaningful Interaction Among Event Attendees
SAN DIEGO, CALIF. – September 14, 2011 – The Active Network, Inc. (NYSE: ACTV), the leading provider of organization-based cloud computing applications, today announced it has been appointed the official event registration and engagement technology provider for the International Telecommunication Union ITU Telecom World 2011 event, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. The robust, integrated solution that Active Network is creating for ITU Telecom World will tether all elements of event management and engagement technology into one platform.
ITU Telecom selected Active Network because it offers a complete suite of technology to support the ITU Telecom World 2011 event—from faster and easier online and onsite registration of event attendees to the launch of a customized, white-label social networking platform for the event, called YourSpace™. The YourSpace platform, to be launched September 14, will greatly enhance the show’s on-site networking opportunities by helping attendees collaborate with one another through discussion boards and private meetings, and easily find fellow attendees, sessions, speakers and exhibitors.
ITU Telecom World 2011—the premier global networking and knowledge sharing event for the information and communication technologies (ICT) industry—takes place from October 24-27, 2011 in Geneva, Switzerland. In operation for 145 years, ITU is the United Nations specialized agency for information and technology issues and includes 192 Member States.
