Fellowship One® technology increases charitable giving through easy online donations
SAN DIEGO, CALIF. – November 17, 2011 – Fellowship Technologies, part of Active Network, Inc. (NYSE: ACTV), the leading provider of organization-based cloud computing applications, released a free Dynamic Church Trends report on the success of digital giving within the Faith community. The report gives insights into new charitable giving strategies and explores various digital donation methods via online, kiosk and mobile devices.
According to the report, 70% of U.S. consumers made an online purchase during 2009, indicating that buying electronically is on the rise1. In line with this trend, early adopters of digital giving saw a 33% increase in giving within their congregations in 20092, a significant percentage and a tangible example of the benefit of technology adoption within the Faith market. Newer trends in digital giving include installing donation kiosks at churches – which allows congregations to donate immediately before or after attending church services – and mobile giving via text messages and smartphone apps.
"Most people no longer carry cash or check books with them, so digital giving makes a lot of sense," said Jeff Hook, General Manager of Fellowship Technologies. "We’ve seen a marked increase in the demand for digital giving – and we’re simply providing congregations the tools they need to offer secure, easy-to-use, donor-directed contributions."
With solutions that help dynamic churches of any size or denomination increase the efficiency of their ministry, Fellowship One offers churches and non-profits digital giving tools that allow users to schedule recurring contributions and view personalized year-to-date donation summaries. In turn, it allows churches to efficiently manage and track donations, reduce postage and administration costs and increase overall consistency in giving.
"Online is the future," said Dave Moore, Finance Director of Granger Community Church. "Our online giving has grown about 5% year-over-year since we started using Fellowship One in 2007." Aaron Goin, the Finance Director of Faith Promise Church adds, "Fellowship One has revolutionized giving at our church. We now have 33% of general giving happening online."
