LAKEWOOD, OH - August 6, 2002 - For the Lakewood community, signing up for fall recreation activities is now fast and easy. Starting today, Lakewood Community Recreation and Education Department debuts fall online registration for more than 50 programs.
Today through August 16, residents will have the first opportunity to register for fall programs and can view fall program information, check availability, and sign up and submit payment online from home or work at www.lkwdpl.org/schools/rec . Online registrants will even receive an immediate e-mail confirmation, letting them know they're in the class. On August 19, registration opens for everyone.
Lakewood Community Recreation and Education Department also offers registration via mail, fax or in-person. "We decided to offer online registration to help individuals who can not register any other way. Our goal is to make registration easily accessible for everyone," explained Rob Beyer, Assistant Commissioner, Lakewood Community Recreation and Education Department. "Now, residents can sign up for classes at any time, not just during business hours."
The department is using ProActive, a recreation management software and Web registration product by La Jolla-based The Active Network. The software installs easily and registration and data management capabilities can be accessed quickly. With online enrollment, the staff reduces the workload and paperwork involved in the registration process.
To register online, the community can visit www.lkwdpl.org/schools/rec . There is a nominal convenience fee to use the online registration service. For more information, call 216-529-4081.
