New Hosted, Web-Based Software for YMCAs Offers Easy Automation for Membership, Child Care and Internet Registration

Popular ActiveNet Solution Now Available for YMCAs and YWCAs

SAN DIEGO, CA - February 13, 2006 - ActiveNet, the popular Web-based and hosted software solution from Active Community Solutions, part of The Active Network, Inc., is now available with membership, child care and registration features developed specifically for YMCAs and YWCAs. YMCA and YWCA organizations worldwide can now offer their communities the convenience of Internet registration, manage membership and child care administration from any computer, and view all member activity as it occurs, without the expense and time involved to install software or manage the technology infrastructure required for processing Internet transactions.

"The Y serves millions of members and is one of the largest providers of child care in the world. Ensuring Ys have the most effective technology solutions to meet their specific membership and child care management needs is a top priority for our team," explained Alex Barnetson, senior vice president, The Active Network, Inc. "ActiveNet has been a popular and reliable solution for automation management among our community service clients. Now Ys can also benefit from ActiveNet's advantages."

ActiveNet eliminates the traditional barriers to program automation and Internet registration faced by community service organizations. As a Web-based, fully-hosted solution, there are no licensing fees or software installation required, data can be viewed and accessed as it is updated real-time by staff members, and connecting multiple facilities is more affordable. All registration transactions are also managed by The Active Network so Ys avoid investments in Web servers and merchant accounts required to handle the transactions.

Using ActiveNet, Y staff can login to the system via a Web browser and manage data from any location, connecting all of their community centers and offices. Staff can manage memberships, registration and child care, accessing customized features and functionality for every task. The public can register online for Y programs, renew memberships, or even register children for child care and after-school and day camps, anytime, conveniently and securely.

ActiveNet offers organizations automation for program and activity search, payment processing, activity management, customer service, roster management, facility reservation, facility search and management, facility reports, membership and pass management, marketing reporting and Internet registration.

A few of ActiveNet's new membership and child care management features include:

  • Automatically send custom e-mails confirming the status of membership renewals
  • Set membership expiration dates or one-time charges without expiration dates
  • Set current and past membership status
  • Record significant membership dates
  • Schedule membership fee changes
  • Suspend or extend current memberships
  • Undo a pass scan if a pass was scanned in error
  • View warning messages for passes scanned by any customers with late payment status
  • Run detailed membership reports on usage, retention, renewals, expirations, transfers
  • Quick and easy access to all child care member information
  • Track child care attendance, including arrival and departure times, vacation and sick days
  • Access or add early drop-off or pick-up details for every child
  • Access or add emergency contacts, medical information or alerts

  • Automate sign in and sign out to easily sign members in and out of course time slots

The debut of ActiveNet for YMCAs is one of several Y initiatives started by Active Community Solutions. The company's strategic partnership with YMCA Canada has brought enhanced functionality and integrated solutions to Canadian Ys and has been continued for YMCAs in the United States, including such organizations as YMCA of Greater Kansas City. Active Community Solutions has also partnered with Blackbaud, providers of the industry-leading Raiser's Edge application, to bring additional integrated features for Ys.
