The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Chooses Online Fundraising Services from Active Giving Solutions

Services Will Power Web Donation and Fundraising for Participants in Team In Training® and All Core Programs for Local Society Chapters

SAN DIEGO, CA - June 29, 2005 - Active Giving Solutions, a service of The Active Network, Inc., has been chosen by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society®, the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research and providing education and patient services, to deliver online fundraising services for participants involved in its Team In Training (TNT) program and other core fundraising programs. The services will include personalized Web pages for each fundraiser that offer the ability to collect donor contributions online.

"We chose Active Giving Solutions for its customized technology and ability to integrate with our internal systems," explained Richard J. Geswell, executive vice president, marketing & revenue generation, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. "We needed an easy tool to encourage and expand online fundraising by our participants. With Active's history of managing online transactions for participatory sports and its ties to the active lifestyle community, we're also looking forward to the additional exposure we gain through the partnership."

The company is providing services for such Society programs as Team In Training, Light The Night® Walk, The Leukemia Cup Regatta, Man & Woman of the Year, Make Cures Happen and Hike For DiscoverySM.

TNT, which attracts more than 35,000 participants annually, used ActiveGiving™ services this past season and generated average online donations higher than offline fundraising. Since its inception, TNT has raised more than $600 million in support of the Society's research and patient service programs and raised more than $82 million in the past year alone.

"We're very proud to partner with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and provide the online technology that will enable participants in local communities everywhere to raise significant dollars for its major fundraising programs," said Jon Belmonte, chief operating officer, The Active Network, Inc. "The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has been extremely successful at building a large fundraising effort at the local level, and we're looking forward to helping their participants across the country drive significant results for the cause. The demand we've seen from national organizations for our online fundraising services demonstrates that fundraising continues to be a key factor for raising awareness, support and funds for a campaign or cause. In the past year, we've seen our Web fundraising campaigns increase significantly, also indicating a migration among nonprofit organizations to Web fundraising tools."
