YMCA Canada East Selects The Active Network As Operations Management Software Provider

SAN DIEGO, CA – October 30, 2006 – YMCA Canada East, representing 14 YMCAs throughout eastern Canada and serving more than 120,000 members, has selected The Active Network, Inc. (www.TheActiveNetwork.com), a company that delivers software technology and marketing solutions to community service organizations, as its operations management software provider. Eastern Canada’s YMCA of Greater Moncton and YMCA of Greater Montreal began using Active’s desktop software in 2004 and 12 additional YMCA Canada East associations will now use the company’s hosted desktop software to integrate, automate and manage memberships, childcare services, program registrations, facility bookings, cashiering and brochure publishing. The 12 YMCAs chose to have Active host the software to reduce up-front implementation costs and eliminate the need to invest in IT resources to support and maintain the technology infrastructure.

We selected Active’s hosted software, as some of our associations are smaller and the hosted deployment option enables each to quickly and easily implement the software with minimal up-front costs. By selecting Active’s integrated software, all 14 YMCAs of Canada East will have a common technology platform in place to easily share data, track memberships, run comprehensive financial reports and provide management greater visibility and insight over the region’s operations. YMCA Canada East also plans to explore online registration services in the future using Active’s hosted software capabilities.
